Due to the recent breeding activities of the albino cats I decided to move my trio of Peppered Corys to the big 55 gallon tank.
Peppered corys are larger than the albino cory at maturity. The females are larger and wider at the middle than the males. Males are much slimmer around the middle when viewing fish from above. I have 2 female peppers and one male. The pepper cats bred in July of 2014. They bred freely and both females laid on different nights over a 2 week period. The larger, older female laid eggs 4 times. The younger girl laid twice. Since there was only one male most of the eggs were not fertile. One baby lived for one week before it died. It was sad but, it was also a learning experience. I will be better prepared for them next time.
